It wasn’t a classic at Old Trafford, but David Raya had a good game for Arsenal. He made a couple of good saves, particularly that one from Cunha in the first half, that was brilliant! Arsenal were far from their best, they needed a good performance from this lad.

I’m going for a back three this week, I’m starting with Dan Ballard. This lad is so dominant in both boxes, he’s so good in the air. He scored one and was just a colossus at the back against what was admittedly a poor West Ham attack. What a start for Sunderland.

Guehi was superb for Palace. Despite all the uncertainty surrounding his future, this lad turned up and delivered a real captain’s performance. Not every player facing transfer uncertainty shows that kind of attitude, just ask Newcastle!

Calafiori, he had a strong game at Old Trafford. Obviously, he chipped in with a goal, but his overall game was good and he dealt with most things that came his way. This lad’s talent was never in question; he just missed too many games last season through injury.

I don’t often pick players from losing teams, but how can I leave Semenyo out? He was brilliant at Anfield, and probably the best player on the park. He took his goals superbly and showed what a huge threat he is. He’s such a great finisher with both feet and when you combine that with his pace and power, it makes him so dangerous.

Xhaka’s signing really came out of nowhere, but he reminded the league just what a good midfielder he is. He’s immediately been given the armband, and you saw his leadership and passing quality on Saturday. A top performance from the lad.

I thought Anderson was magnificent for Forest. He’s a lad that seems to keep getting better and better, he’s bound to be getting closer to the England squad. His pass for the 3rd goal was just sublime, you won’t see a better pass all season!

My star man has to be Reijnders though, I thought he was amazing. This lad just completely ran the show in midfield and has so much to his game. His quality on the ball is brilliant and you saw the turn of pace he has as well. The 3rd goal was just a joy to watch. I know people will say it’s only Wolves, but City were very impressive.

Ekitike was impressive on his home debut. Obviously, he scored one and his overall play was excellent. He’s such a big lad, but he’s got lovely feet and showed some very nice touches. I’m looking forward to seeing more of him.

Richarlison’s underrated for me. He was brilliant for Spurs at the weekend and boy; did he take those two goals well! This is a lad that was starting for Brazil not too long ago, you don’t do that if you aren’t a very good player. It could be a big season for the lad.

Chris Wood picked up where he left off last season. His two goals against Brentford were vintage striker’s goals, and I can see the lad having another good season. I liked what I saw from Forest.

Manager of the weekRegis Le Bris is a bit unlucky, but I’m going with Thomas Frank. After losing quite unfortunately against PSG, he got the team ready for this one and Spurs cruised it. This could be an exciting season for Spurs, I’m a big fan of the new boss.
