Harry Redknapp Premier League Preview

Forest 1-2 Chelsea

Wow, what a massive game for Forest this is. It sounds crazy because he’s just in the job but Ange is under some serious pressure. Defensively, they’ve looked all over the place in the last month or so.

I’m curious what Chelsea we’ll see here. That win over Liverpool felt big, probably the most important in Maresca’s time. Can they build on it?

I’m going for Chelsea to win this one, just.

One to watch- He got the winner against Liverpool, and I’ve liked what I’ve seen from young Estevao. Who doesn’t like a Brazilian wonderkid!

Sunderland 1-0 Wolves

It’s early in the season but Sunderland will want the three points here to keep up what’s been such a great start. They’ve been so impressive at home, that’s vital for these promoted sides.

Wolves are just desperate to get a win. The longer that wait goes on, the more it will play into their minds. This is a big test for them.

I think this could be nervy and very even. I’m leaning towards Sunderland though.

One to watch- I never pick keepers here, but Roefs has been a revelation in goal for Sunderland and has won them a few points already!

Burnley 1-2 Leeds

Another big game! Burnley have struggled of late and I’m going to sound like a broken record here, I just worry where the goals are coming from.

Leeds went to Wolves and scored three and won, so I think they’ll fancy this trip. I think Leeds have been alright so far, they’ve got this one and then West Ham to come on the Friday, they’ll be targeting at least four if not six points.

2-1 Leeds.

Palace 2-2 Bournemouth

I’m looking forward to this, I can see a good one between two sides that have started the season so well.  Palace have just been fantastic, but I do worry about the size of this squad. They’ve got a lot of games coming up.

People will no doubt call me a homer but how can I not be impressed by Bournemouth’s start! Semenyo’s been as good as anyone in the league and they’ve just got so much threat about them.

I’m going for a thriller, 2-2!

One to watch- I saw Mateta got his first start for France and he only went and scored! This lad will be full of confidence.

Brighton 2-2 Newcastle

Another game that I think we could see plenty of action. Brighton are a hard team to work out this season. They’ve beaten some of the big boys but slipped up against the sides you’d fancy them against! They could easily have another 5 or 6 points.

It’s a same story for Newcastle, the amount of late goals they’ve conceded is unbelievable. That was a good win at Forest though and I do see signs that they’re looking more like themselves.

I can see Newcastle being a real threat from set-piece and think their pace and physicality will cause problems. Another 2-2!

One to watch- Woltemade is beginning to find his feet and chipping in with some goals. He got his first for Germany against Northern Ireland and will fancy one here.

Man City 3-1 Everton

I think City are beginning to find some serious form. I know it’s “only” a 1-0 win but winning away at Brentford isn’t easy and yet again Haaland was just brilliant. Don’t write this side out the title race.

That was a great win for Everton last time out against Crystal Palace. I like watching them this season, obviously Jack Grealish is getting all the plaudits!

I’ve got to pick City in this one.

One to watch- I can’t keep picking Haaland, so I’ll go with Doku. I think this lad has been excellent this season and has probably gone under the radar.

Fulham 1-2 Arsenal

Fulham haven’t been great on the road this season but at home, they give most sides a decent game. They’ve got a few ex-Arsenal lads in the side here and I think they’ll be up for this.

All of a sudden, Arsenal are top of the league and the team to beat in the eyes of many. The squad is in fantastic shape and if they can start scoring a few more goals, they could really take some stopping.

I’m picking Arsenal, 2-1.

Spurs 2-1 Villa

It’s been the perfect start at Spurs for Thomas Frank and if they can keep this form up, you never know! The new signings are settling and getting better and better and they look much more organised at the back.

Villa have two wins in a row and will travel here with a little bit more belief. They’ve got a decent record against Spurs but I still don’t think this side are anywhere near playing at their best.

2-1 to Spurs.

One to watch- I do like the look of Simons. He shows some moments of real class and quality.

Liverpool 3-1 Man Utd

Here we go, the big game of the week and all of a sudden, a fascinating clash! Liverpool have lost three in a row, but they’ve all been away from home, which can happen. I do think we’ll see an improvement from them here, the fans will make a difference.

As for United, they beat Sunderland last time, but they gave up plenty of chances and it wasn’t the most convincing display. They actually played very well here last season and might have even won that game, so I wouldn’t write them off.

It might be wrong, but I think this is the sort of game where we’ll see Liverpool show just why they were champions.

One to watch- I’m cheating and picking two players here, Isak and Wirtz. So much has been written about these two big-money signings and some it has been fair, some of it’s been a bit overblown. This would be the perfect game to show their quality.

West Ham 1-1 Brentford

Last game, and quite a difficult to call. Who knows what we’ll get from West Ham, but I do think we’ll see an improvement. Nuno will have had a little bit of time to settle in and work on the training ground. I don’t expect them to be world-beaters going forward, but I can see them being a lot harder to beat.

Brentford are so hard to beat at home and give everyone a game. They play to their strengths and really mix it up with their long throws and set-piece prowess. That being said, they haven’t been as good on the road.

I really can’t separate these two, I’m picking the draw.

One to watch: Nuno obviously got the absolute best out of Chris Wood at Forest, could he do something similar with Fullkrug? He arrived as a German international but we’ve never really seen the best of him at West Ham.
