Every Australian Open Winner from 1905-2024
Every year, the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam, takes place in Melbourne. It began in 1905. Each game happens on a hard court, a fan favourite as it yields quick rallies. The Championships went by “Australasian Championships” from 1905 to 1927. The name changed to “Australian Championships” in 1927 and stuck till 1969. After 1969, it was known simply as the Australian Open.
Six unique courts host the competition, the most famous being the Rod Laver Arena. Other courts are the John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena, and Kia Arena.
Next, we’ll delve into the Australian Open’s history, showcasing each year’s champions since the tournament’s inception!
