Alexander Isak has established himself as one of the best and most sought-after strikers in the world, following another stellar campaign with Newcastle United. The Swedish striker has netted 27 goals in all competitions and played a pivotal role in Newcastle winning the Carabao Cup – their first major trophy since 1955.
Despite being under contract until 2028, interest is growing from other clubs, and manager Eddie Howe has always suggested that while he’d like to keep Isak, he can’t guarantee he’ll stay.

There are two clubs topping the latest football transfer odds list where Alexander Isak’s future is concerned, and it’s Liverpool that lead the way at 5/2, although all odds are subject to change. Liverpool have lacked a dependable number nine for years, and Isak ticks all the boxes.
Interestingly, the 25-year-old wasn’t previously linked with the Anfield-based club, that was until this season when he played so well against them. Post-Carabao Cup final, Isak seemingly appeared on their radar. Liverpool manager Arne Slot is already working to add to his squad ahead of next season’s title defence.
Arsenal’s Pursuit of a Prolific Striker
For years, everybody has been suggesting that the reason why Arsenal continue to be the bridesmaid and never the bride is because they’ve failed to recruit a number nine who can score goals consistently at the highest level.
It now appears as though Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is ready to find a solution, and Isak could be the striker he targets. The Swede is 6/1 to sign for the North London-based outfit this summer. The question is, can Arsenal afford him?

People always say that the top Premier League players would leave whoever they play for if it meant signing for Barcelona or Real Madrid, as proven by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s decision to swap Anfield for the Bernabeu. And when a striker like Isak comes along, the two Spanish giants will naturally take note.
Barcelona, priced at 12/1, are likely to be a more realistic option than Real Madrid at 25/1, because Barca need a striker, whereas Real have Kylian Mbappe for years to come. However, the odds suggest a move to either is unlikely at this stage.
Staying Put
While teams will be eager to acquire Isak this summer, if Newcastle United qualify for the Champions League as expected, he may decide to continue with the Magpies at least for another season, especially after they won the Carabao Cup in 2024/25.
He will be coveted by most top clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, and even Chelsea, with the striker 25/1 to join any of the three. But what can Manchester United offer right now? Will he start at City? Is it a stable environment at Chelsea?
