Harry Redknapp’s PL Team Of The Week: Bournemouth, Brentford And West Ham Stars All Feature
That was a big win for Sunderland and I’m going with Robin Roefs in goal this week. This lad’s been a brilliant signing and has been excellent this season. Spurs had quite a few shots on goal, but he dealt with everything that came his way.
Mats Wieffer had a great game at Turf Moor, two goals from right-back! This lad plays everywhere for Brighton and is becoming a very dependable player. I thought he took his goals well and it showed his quality.
What a night that was for West Ham, Konstantinos Mavropanos was excellent. I like this lad, he’s the sort of character that you need in a relegation battle, he’s got a lot of heart and fight about him. He took his two goals very well as well!
Marc Guehi’s been an unbelievable signing for Man City, it’s like he’s been in the side for years. He’s got to be one of the first names on the team sheet right now and is forming a good partnership with Khusanov. How good was that finish though? He looked like a striker! He’s my star man this week, outstanding.
Tyrick Mitchell had a good game for Crystal Palace, he was a real threat down the left. This guy seems to really go under the radar and I’m not really sure why, there aren’t many better left-backs than him. It’s been a great week for Palace.
Jarrod Bowen bounced back from that FA Cup disappointment in style; he was fantastic against Wolves. He created a couple of goals, was very unlucky not to get one himself and was such a threat. West Ham look really up for this relegation fight, and he’s leading from the front.
I know everyone will talk about Arsenal, but Bournemouth were brilliant and Alex Scott was at the heart of everything. I don’t think enough people realise how good this young lad is, he’s such a classy midfielder. He’s got bags of energy and is always trying to make things happen. He popped up with the winner and made it look so easy.
Rio Ngumoha was electric against Fulham, it will be tough for Arne Slot to leave him out now! That was such a great goal from him, and he’s got so much confidence and enthusiasm about him, the fans will love watching him. I hope we see a lot more of him.
Igor Thiago’s amazing season continues. He tucked away another penalty; he doesn’t look like missing. As for his second goal, you know everything’s going your way when that happens! What a great story he’s been.
It felt like Jean-Philippe Mateta’s Crystal Palace career was fizzling out, but he looks right back to his best again! He’s had a brilliant week and again, was the hero against Newcastle. It was a reminder of just how much of a handful this lad is when he’s in this mood.
Manager – Some good options this week, but it has to be Andoni Iraola. The club are on this amazing unbeaten run, and this performance was the best of the lot. They just play with so much energy and there was no thought of going to Arsenal and trying to sit in and frustrate, Bournemouth went there to take the game to Arsenal and to win, which they did.
