After it was confirmed that Michael O’Neill will be leaving Ewood Park, BetVictor has released the next Blackburn manager odds market. O’Neill successfully preserved Rovers EFL Championship status after a topsy-turvy campaign.

Now the 2025-26 season has concluded – with just the play-off final undetermined – O’Neill has decided to put his full attention into overseeing the Northern Ireland national team. The 56-year-old has held both roles since February but has rejected the chance to stay on in Lancashire.

Now, the next Blackburn manager odds market has seen a number of huge names linked to the post. Gary Rowett heads the betting but a number of club legends are also in the running for the gig. Here at BetVictor News, we take a closer look at the most likely contenders.

Next Blackburn Manager Odds: Gary Rowett Favoured For Ewood Park Role

Having failed to keep Leicester in the EFL Championship, it was confirmed that Gary Rowett would not lead the Foxes in League One next season. That in itself has seen a number of names enter the next Leicester manager odds market and in turn, has seen the 52-year-old become the 4/1 favourite to take the Blackburn job.

Rowett has plenty of experience in England’s second tier and although he wasn’t able to succeed at the King Power, he is still held in high regard. The former Birmingham, Derby and Millwall boss leads the betting and is the most likely to replace Michael O’Neill.

Will David Wagner Take The Blackburn Job?

For those who are looking for more value when it comes to Championship betting, Huddersfield hero David Wagner can be backed at 6/1. Not only did he lead the Terriers to the Premier League for the first time in their history in 2017, he managed to keep the Yorkshireman in the big time for a second season.

After leaving the Accu Stadium in 2019, Wagner managed Schalke and Young Boys before returning to England’s second tier with Norwich. He lead the Canaries to the play-offs in 2023-24 but was fired after losing 4-0 on aggregate to Leeds in the semi-final.

Damien Duff, Mark Hughes, Craig Bellamy And Robbie Savage In Blackburn Contention

A quartet of former Blackburn players are also in the running. Damien Duff – who starred for the club in the late 90s/early 00s is available at 16/1. Mark Hughes, who also managed Rovers between 2004-2008, is online at 25/1.

Craig Bellamy and Robbie Savage are both available at 20/1. The duo enjoyed a successful 2005-06 campaign at Ewood Park and are still held in high regard by supporters. Other notable names include Tony Mowbray (6/1), Steven Gerrard (16/1) and Thomas Frank (25/1).
