Harry Redknapp’s Team of the Week – Matchday 14

Harry Redknapp's Team of the Week

Another thrilling week in the Premier League which saw the net bustle on an eye-watering 38 occasions across 10 matches. Brand Ambassador Harry Redknapp gives his Team of the Week.

Jordan Pickford

I’m a big fan of Jordan Pickford, he’s back in my side again this week. That was a massive win for Everton at Forest, what a job Sean Dyche is doing. Pickford made a couple of vital saves at the end to preserve the lead. I’ve always liked this boy’s character, he’s the sort of personality you need when you’re down that end of the table.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

How can I not have Trent Alexander-Arnold in the side. I know the first goal went down as an own goal but in my eyes, he scored two! He’s got so much quality on that right foot; I’ve not seen many full-backs like him. He’s a special talent.

Fabian Schar

I could have picked any of these Newcastle defenders, but I thought Schar was outstanding. I’ve always liked the lad, what a bit of business he’s been for Newcastle down the years. He’s so composed and cruises through a lot of these games, he’s a really consistent player. I don’t think people realise how good this bloke is.

Ben Mee

Alongside him, I’m picking Ben Mee. Another one that goes under the radar, but what a solid player he’s been for so many years in this league. He was involved in the first goal and got the second, you can’t ask for much more from a centre-half. To think they signed this lad for free last season, what a masterstroke.

Tino Livramento

I couldn’t leave Livramento out of my side, what a week this boy has had. I thought he was superb in Paris during the week and backed it up against United. He was very highly thought of at Chelsea and then Southampton and it looks like he’s putting it all together now and has recovered from that bad injury he had. I know he can play for a few countries; Gareth needs to be getting on that phone soon!

Enzo Fernandez

What a classy player Enzo Fernandez is, that was a top performance against Brighton. I’ve mentioned it before, but I think Chelsea’s form has meant people haven’t been paying attention to this lad, there’s not many better in the league. He can do a bit of everything in midfield.

Giovani Lo Celso

I’ve got to pick Lo Celso, brilliant from him against City. He’s someone that came in for a lot of money a few years ago and it just never quite happened for the lad. He’s always had quality though; Argentina don’t give out caps for nothing! It looks like he’s taking his chance now. That was a lovely goal, and it capped a good performance.

Anthony Gordon

Another week, another Anthony Gordon selection! This boy shows no sign of slowing down, I’m loving what I’m seeing from him. He’s probably been the form player in the league over the last few weeks. You see that desire to get in the box and to get on the scoresheet, Eddie deserves credit for adding that to his game.

Luca Koleosho

Burnley were absolutely fantastic against Sheffield United, I could have picked four or five of their lads. I’m picking young Luca Koleosho, he was a threat all game. He more than deserved his goal, if anything he could have scored more. That was his first Premier League goal, it won’t be the last based on that showing.

Dejan Kulusekvski

What a point that was for Spurs at the Etihad, Dejan Kulusekvski was outstanding, he’s my star man this week! He set up the first and always looked like the most likely player to do something for Spurs. I loved his goal, the desire to get onto that ball, to throw himself at it knowing he might get hurt, top class. He probably goes under the radar, he’s very good player.

Gabriel Jesus

He didn’t score, he didn’t assist, but Gabriel Jesus was outstanding against Wolves. This boy is such a classy striker. Other players may score more than him but there’s not many more complete than him. His hold-up play for the first was just fantastic and again, he was involved in the second. Arsenal are a different side when he’s in the side and at his best.
