In goal this week, it has to be Dean Henderson. He’s the skipper now at Palace and boy did he lead his side here against Wolves. He made some top saves, including that penalty of course, and couldn’t have done more for his side.
Szoboszlai was back at right-back, and back in my side this week. I’ve just been so impressed by this lad all season, his attitude has been absolutely fantastic. I don’t think it’s outrageous to say that he’s been one of the best right-backs in the league this season!
What a point that was for Burnley at Stamford Bridge, and Joe Worral was a colossus at the back for them. He dealt with everything that came his way, he won so many headers!
Konate’s had a very up and down season for Liverpool, but he looked more like himself at Forest, this was a great performance from the lad. He was dominant and didn’t really give that Forest attack much of a chance. A big performance in a big win.
I’ve liked Diouf at West Ham for most of the season; he’s a real threat on that left. He’s so quick and loves going forward and boy does he deliver some fantastic crosses! He’s been a great signing.
I have to put James Milner in this week don’t I? What an achievement to break the appearance record and what an amazing professional he’s been. He started and played very well for Brighton at Brentford. Make no mistake, he’s not getting in this side for sentimental reasons.
Nico O’Reilly just seems to get better and better with each passing week. Left-back or midfield, it doesn’t seem to matter with this lad, he’s such a top prospect and he’s making himself a mainstay in the side. He took his two goals very well against Newcastle.
Stach’s been another good signing for Leeds this season. He’s a great presence in that midfield with his size and physicality but make no mistake, this lad has fantastic quality as we saw from that free-kick.
Eze’s had quite a strange season at Arsenal but talk about making yourself a hero, five goals in two games against Spurs! I know they were hardly the most difficult finishes, but you’ve got to put yourself in those positions and it’s nice to see him find the net.
Jimenez goes under the radar, he’s still such a good striker even if he’s not getting any younger. He’s had a great season for Fulham and was brilliant away at Sunderland, a proper performance from the number nine. He just never looks like he’s going to miss a penalty!
My star man has to be Gyokeres, good for him. This lad has had a lot of criticism and discussion this year and a lot of it seemed quite harsh to me, this performance will do so much to silence those critics. I thought he took his two goals brilliantly and it was by far his best overall performance in an Arsenal shirt. If he can keep that up, what a boost that would be in this title race.
Manager – I’m picking Pep. I can see City are beginning to really click and are looking ominous in this title race. He made two big signings in January and both have settled so well. Semenyo’s given him another option in attack but Guehi looks a masterstroke, he could be the difference for them this season.
