Leeds 1-1 Forest
A big game for both, with them level on points in the table. Leeds have been good at home of late, but last week’s result against Arsenal wasn’t great. Farke will want a response in this one.
Considering they had 10 men for most of the game, that was a decent point for Forest against Palace. It’s been a good month for them and they’re beginning to get a bit of a gap between them and West Ham.
A very even game here, 1-1.
One to watch- I like Igor Jesus, he’s a real handful up front and is beginning to chip in with some goals.
Man Utd 2-1 Spurs
This should be a good game! United have been so much better under Carrick and now are right in the race for those Champions League places. They just seem to have more spark and more confidence about them and that late winner last week will only help that.
Spurs showed a lot of fight to come back against City, they needed that after what’s been a very difficult period for them. It doesn’t get any easier for them her though.
I can see both teams scoring, but I’m picking United.
One to watch- That winner last week should give Sesko a boost, he took that very well.
Fulham 2-1 Everton
That was a decent enough performance from Fulham at Old Trafford, and there’s always much better at home. I think they’ll be up for this one.
Everton showed some trademark fight under Moyes and got a late equaliser at Brighton, a game they didn’t really look like getting anything from.
Level on points, I think Fulham just edge this.
One to watch- What a goal from Kevin last week. This young lad’s shown glimpses of quality this season and that might be the boost he needed.
Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland
It’s been a great week for Arsenal. A big win at Elland Road and then through to the final of the League Cup, Arteta couldn’t have asked for more.
Sunderland cruised to the win over Burnley at home on Monday night but Burnley weren’t great, and Sunderland have struggled a little bit on the road of late.
A comfortable home win.
One to watch – Havertz getting back to his best would be a real boost for Arsenal. He took his goal very well the other night.
Bournemouth 2-2 Villa
I can see a very entertaining clash here. Bournemouth’s form has picked up and eased any small relegation concerns. Given how tight this table is, if you can go on a winning run you can find yourself climbing 3 or 4 spots in the table.
That was a very frustrating day at the office for Villa last week against Brentford. They had so much of the ball, so many shots but they just couldn’t put the ball in the net!
Bournemouth are always great to watch and seem to be involved in a lot of thrillers, this could be another. 2-2!
One to watch- Kroupi’s been a revelation this season. This boy’s such a great finisher and filling that Semenyo void.
Burnley 0-1 West Ham
Wow, what a massive game. Burnley are really struggling right now; they just don’t look like winning a game. They were very poor on Monday at Sunderland.
West Ham have really picked up of late and were unlucky not to get something from Stamford Bridge last week, they could have been 3 or 4 up at half-time. Still, there’s a lot of positives to take from that.
This will be nervy, but I think West Ham win this, they need these points.
One to watch- Time and again, Bowen delivers for West Ham when they really need him. This could be another.
Wolves 0-2 Chelsea
Wolves look like they’ve resigned themselves to relegation, particularly selling their starting striker in January.
It’s been an up and down week for Chelsea and Liam Rosenior. They showed great character to turn that West Ham game around and for most of the game against Arsenal. The final result was disappointing, but they’ll take plenty of positives from that.
2-0 to Chelsea.
One to watch- It’s been a strange spell for Cole Palmer, he just needs a goal to hopefully get back to his best.
Newcastle 1-1 Brentford
This feels like a big game for Newcastle. It’s been a very up and down season for them and they just can’t seem to really get a good run of form going. They had some good moments against City during the week, but the result was disappointing.
As for Brentford, they’re playing with so much confidence and freedom right now. They’ve already overachieved this season, I’ve been so impressed by them.
Brentford showed last week just how difficult they are to beat. I think they can frustrate Newcastle and get a point.
One to watch- Wissa’s move from Brentford in the summer really hasn’t worked out the way Newcastle hoped. A big performance against his old side here would help.
Brighton 1-1 Palace
This should be a good one, I like this rivalry. It’s been a difficult spell for Brighton, they just can’t get a win and keep conceding goals late on.
As for Palace, I don’t know what to expect. It’s been quite a chaotic month for them to say the least! It’s going to be a very interesting few weeks for them and I’m still not sure what’s going to happen with Glasner.
I’m going for a draw.
One to watch- Obviously Mateta never got his move in the end, but Palace still brought in Strand Larsen. I’d imagine he’ll start this one but that’s going to be an interesting dynamic between now and the end of the season.
Liverpool 1-2 Man City
The big one. Back in the Klopp-Guardiola era, this was the game that decided titles and we saw some absolute classics. It’s not quite as important this season, but I think we’ll see a great game. Liverpool were great against Newcastle and the real positive would be the performances and linkup of Ekitike and Wirtz, if they can keep that up, this could be an exciting end to the season for them.
For City, they blew that lead to Spurs and then cruised it against Newcastle, who knows what to expect from them here! They’ve got so many brilliant players, but they’re too inconsistent at times.
I think City just, just win this.
One to watch – Haaland’s having a very quiet spell for City. Him against van Dijk is always a great battle, that’ll be interesting to watch.
