I’m picking Emi Martinez in the sticks this week. What a top keeper he is and he was brilliant against Newcastle. He made two fantastic saves, one from Tonali and one from Miley, that proved so important in that win.
I like Murillo at Forest, he’s a very dominant centre-half. That was a vital win for them away to Brentford, and he was excellent. Him and Milenkovic are a very good partnership, as we saw all last season.
Harry Maguire was superb at the Emirates. Harry’s been someone that’s divided opinion during his United career and I’m not sure why, he’s such a commanding defender. He probably suits playing in these sorts of backs to the wall type away games, where his defensive qualities are really on show.
Guehi was straight in the City side and he cruised it against Wolves. I know people will say it’s only Wolves, but it was a very good debut nonetheless, and I think he’ll prove to be a brilliant signing for City. I hope he does brilliantly, I was so impressed by the way he conducted himself this season.
Harry Wilson’s probably been in this side more than anyone over the last month! Week after week, this lad is delivering for Fulham. Every goal he scores seems to be a vital one and always seems to be a screamer!
I really like the look of young Estevao, what a talent he looks. He was sensational against Palace, scoring the opener before creating the second. We’ve seen glimpses of this all season from him and he seems to be getting better and better. He’s my star man this week, and he could be a very exciting player to watch this summer for Brazil!
I like Alex Scott at Bournemouth, he’s a really classy player in that midfield. He’s got great energy and real quality and composure off both feet. He was very highly regarded when they signed him and we’ve seen that this season and again against Liverpool on Saturday, he was brilliant.
Enzo Fernandez is a top player, no doubt about it. He’s been in good form and dominated that area against Palace. He’s got a fantastic range of passing but can always pop up with a goal. He took his penalty so well too.
It couldn’t have been a better start for Semenyo at City, he’s been superb. That goal against Wolves summed up his quality, he’s so sharp in and around the box and finishes so well off both feet. It’s going to be interesting to watch him for the rest of the season.
Mbeumo’s in great form for United. A goal against City, a goal against Arsenal, that’s good going. I thought he’d do well at United and he looks really at home in this side and seems to have a great understanding with the likes of Bruno Fernandes.
Igor Jesus has been a good bit of business for Forest. I really liked that chest and volleyed finish from him against Brentford, that was a proper striker’s finish from him. He made that chance out of nothing.
Manager of the Week – It can only be Michael Carrick! I’m delighted for Michael, what a start he’s made here, and they look so improved already. I think people forget what a good job he did at Middlesbrough and an English manager at one of the country’s biggest clubs. Whether it will be his long-term remains to be seen, but he can only keep winning games and see what happens!
