Berlin Hosts Night 8 As Luke Littler Looks For Back-To-Back Wins
Night 8 | Uber Arena, Berlin | Thursday March 26 | 6:10pm
Prior to Thursday’s action, BetVictor News has the Premier League Darts Night 8 preview with Jonny Clayton, Luke Littler, Gerwyn Price, Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen among those in action.
Premier League Darts Night 8 Preview
The Premier League reaches Night 8 with the competition finely poised and the table taking shape. Jonny Clayton is the surprise leader at this stage with Luke Littler, Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries completing the top four.
This week, Berlin provides the backdrop, and with its famously electric crowd, it’s a venue where momentum can swing quickly and confidence can snowball. Which is something to consider when it comes to Premier League darts betting. Several players arrive with something to prove, namely Josh Rock: some chasing consistency, others looking to convert strong performances into points.
The established elite will be rolling their sleeves up in Germany, and every match on the card carries its own narrative—whether it’s redemption, rivalry, or the chance to make a statement. With four compelling quarter-final ties, Night 8 promises a blend of high scoring, tactical battles, and the kind of drama that has become the Premier League’s trademark.
Let’s take a closer look at each Night 8 matchup.
Jonny Clayton vs Josh Rock
A fascinating clash kicks-off Night 8 as leader Jonny Clayton faces Josh Rock. The latter is rooted to the bottom of the table without a single point to his name. However, the Northern Irishman did hit a nine-darter on Night 4 in Belfast, proving his quality at the oche.
As for Clayton, he has already beaten Rocky in Premier League Darts this year and will very much fancy his chances again. Even though the Welshman entertained a quarter-final exit at the hands of Luke Humphries last time out – he is top of the pile with 19 points and two nightly wins.
Luke Humphries vs Michael van Gerwen
Despite not claiming a nightly win in seven attempts, Luke Humphries currently occupies fourth spot on 11 points. The world number two will very much fancy his chances against Michael van Gerwen – who sits just one point and one place below Cool Hand.
Especially as he has two wins over MVG already in March. However, the Green Machine has won the tournament seven times and it would be naive to rule him out completely. Even more so as he thrashed Humphries on Night 1 in the semi-final.
Luke Littler vs Stephen Bunting
Perhaps unsurprisingly, reigning champion and world number one Luke Littler is the Premier League Darts Night 8 favourite. The Nuke has two nightly wins behind him this term which included last week’s remarkable victory over Gerwyn Price after being 5-0 down.
Despite not being at his lethal best on the European Tour, Littler’s Premier League form is gathering traction. A win over Stephen Bunting – who has lost his last three against the 19-year-old – will mean he is his usual threat in Berlin. As it stands, he is the overall favourite in BetVictor’s outright Premier League market.
Gerwyn Price vs Gian van Veen
Doubts still surround Gian van Veen’s participation in Berlin. The world number three missed out last week and has undergone surgery to remove kidney stones. Van Veen admitted it will be touch and go to face Gerwyn Price on Thursday.
If he does make it to the oche, expect a tight and tense matchup. Both players have beaten each other 6-5 this season and another 11-legger could be in-store. Van Veen is currently sixth in the table with the Iceman perched in third.
