The National Rugby League is Australasia’s most prominent rugby league competition. It’s been running since 1909, and there are currently teams from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and New Zealand competing.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are the most successful team in NRL history, with twenty-one titles to their name, but they haven’t been winners since 2014. The Penrith Panthers are the defending champions, have been champions for the last three years, and are, therefore, favourites where NRL odds are concerned.
Penrith Panthers will be out to make it four wins from four, but even though they are favourites to be successful in 2024, and the rugby league odds state this, no team since St. George between 1956 and 1966 has put a significant run together in NRL history. So, it would be some achievement if the Panthers were able to pull off the feat.
