Next Liverpool Manager Odds As Pressure Intensifies On Arne Slot

Arne Slot’s Position As Liverpool Manager Is In Serious Doubt

After their lacklustre 2-0 loss to PSG in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg on April 8, Arne Slot appears to be on borrowed time. The next Liverpool manager odds have come under the spotlight here at BetVictor News owing to the Dutchman suffering a staggering 16th defeat of the season across all competitions in Paris.

The Reds failures in 2025-26 has been surprising owing to their huge outlay in the summer transfer window. Approximately £450million was spent to lure the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez to Merseyside.

However, frailties on the pitch means Liverpool are extremely unlikely to end the current campaign with any silverware. Something of which was hard to fathom back in August. And from Slot’s perspective, he is edging closer to his p45.

Which is another theory that was difficult to imagine after his stunning debut campaign at Anfield. Bowing out of the UCL and not finishing in the top five will almost certainly mean Slot is relieved of his duties.

Already, the next Liverpool manager odds market has highlighted a number of candidates who could join the club for next season. Unsurprisingly, some huge names are all in the mix which include a number of Reds legends as well as a number of European and Premier League bosses. A certain German is also a consideration, too.

Next Liverpool Manager Odds: Xabi Alonso Is The 1/3 Favourite

As it stands, Xabi Alonso is the overwhelming favourite in the next Liverpool manager odds market. Not only is the Spaniard a former player who helped the club win the 2005 Champions League, he has dazzled in the dugout since hanging up his boots.

Alonso’s finest achievements undoubtedly came during his time with Bayer Leverkusen. In his first full season with the German giants in 2023-24, Alonso won the Bundesliga without losing a single game. He also lifted the DFB-Pokal and 2024 DFL-Supercup. Alonso set a new European record of going 51 games undefeated.

His efforts at the BayArena saw Real Madrid come calling. Although he parted ways with Los Blancos in January 2026, he won 24 of his 34 games in charge and suffered just six losses. From Liverpool’s perspective, he would be the logical choice to replace Arne Slot. Alonso is also 6/1 in the next Man City manager odds market, too.

Could Oliver Glasner, Luis Enrique, Andoni Iraola, Julian Nagelsmann, Steven Gerrard Or Unai Emery Be Named As The Next Liverpool Manager?

At the time of writing, Luis Enrique is the second favourite in the next Liverpool manager odds market. The PSG boss is priced at 3/1 and ironically, the Parisians 2-0 victory has seen the pressure intensify on Arne Slot. His European pedigree fits into the Reds project.

Elsewhere, esteemed Premier League bosses Andoni Iraola (8/1), Unai Emery (14/1) and Oliver Glasner (16/1) are all in the mix. The latter is a shorter price (4/1) in the next Chelsea manager odds market. The Austrian will definitely leave Crystal Palace, and the battle for his signature will be plentiful.

Julian Nagelsmann – who currently oversees the German national team – is priced at 8/1. His contract has been extended until after Euro 2028 but a catastrophic World Cup could see him become available. Meanwhile, club legend Steven Gerrard can also be backed at 8’s.

Will Jurgen Klopp Make An Emotional Return To Liverpool?

Although a slight sentimental outsider at 10/1, Jurgen Klopp is hard to ignore. The German famously guided Liverpool to their first-ever Premier League trophy in 2020 and also won the Champions League a year prior. From a fan’s point of view, they would surely love to see Klopp back in the dugout.

He knows the club inside out and has worked wonders with the likes of Mo Salah and Vigil van Dijk over the years. The 58-year-old has admitted he is ‘done as a coach.’ However, the lure of a Merseyside reunion can not completely be ruled out.

Currently, Klopp is the Head of Global for Red Bull GmbH but the chance to adopt the Gegenpressing tactic back at Anfield may prove tempting. It is a long-shot but certainly worth keeping an eye on.
