A busy day of racing with four jumps cards across the UK and Ireland. We head to Perth for the NAP as Ludlow, Bellewstown and Taunton host National Hunt action. The Flat is covered with meetings at Gowran and Catterick.
A quick word on yesterday’s NAP who had no real excuses in the Derby trial at Epsom. The winner, Bellum Justum, looks set to head to York next month for the Dante. The same connections won that race with The Foxes before heading to Epsom and they, at least, know he handles the unique track.
NAP of the Day
On to today where the Willie Mullins title victory lap rolls into Ludlow and Perth, the 3.25 looks a great race and hard to call. I feel more confident in the NAP Figaroc who runs in the two mile handicap chase at the 3.55 Perth. This horse hasn’t won over fences but the last few runs in Ireland have suggested that he would be capable of taking a race of this nature. I think the smaller field size will be a plus too. He is going to add another chunk of prize money to Mullins’ total ahead of the season ending on Saturday.
