NAP of the Day – Tuesday 30th April

NAP of the Day

One of the best weeks in racing in my view with something for everyone. The top class Flat action returns at Newmarket on Saturday with the first classic of the season. Prior to that, however, we have Punchestown (NAP) offering the chance to see big name jumps horses for the last time this season. Plus, a brilliant card at Ascot on Wednesday.

Today, Brighton, Punchestown, Yarmouth and Catterick all play host to cards. The NAP is going to come from Punchestown. The bumpers alone at Punchestown are well worth watching for future stars but prove tricky betting heats so will just be a watching brief for me. Whilst results can sometimes be slightly strange at this Festival, I think Dinoblue is going to have too much for the boys in the grade one Champion Chase at 5.25. She gets the 7lb allowance, which is very handy here, proven to be versatile on the ground which will be a big help too. Plenty will be willing to forgive Bambridge who had to run on unsuitable ground last time out but for me Dinoblue is your winner in waiting for the big race today.
