In a week which saw Arsenal return to the top of the pile, Liverpool and Manchester City dropped points once more. Brand ambassador Harry Redknapp gives his Team of the Week.
André Onana
He’s had a difficult time at United but every credit to Onana for his performance at Anfield, that was a valuable point. Don’t get me wrong, I thought Liverpool were very wasteful, but this lad dealt with everything that came his way and has shown a lot of character after the stick he’s been getting. He’ll be looking to build on this.
Dan Burn
It’s been a tough fortnight for Newcastle, it was important they got back to winning ways against Fulham. Big Dan Burn was back in the side and was superb, keeping a clean sheet and bundling one in as well. He’s been a brilliant servant to Newcastle over the last season or so.
Michael Keane
I keep saying it, what a job Sean Dyche is doing. He won’t admit it, but he must have loved going back to Burnley and winning. He wasn’t the only one, Michael Keane returned to his old club and left with a clean sheet and a goal. He’s always been a lad that Dyche trusts, you can see why with performances like that.
Raphaël Varane
He has his injury issues but there’s no denying that Varane is a class act when fit. He was vital for United at Anfield and formed a good pairing with Jonny Evans. You don’t achieve what this lad’s done in his career if you’re not a top player. I’ve seen him linked with a move in January, United would be crazy to let him leave.
Lucas Paquetá
Speaking of class acts, I’m a big fan of Paqueta. Pep was interested in this boy in the summer, and you can see why, he oozes class and composure. Three assists and some lovely touches from the lad, this West Ham has so much quality in it.
Cole Palmer
Cole Palmer’s been in my side quite a few times this season and you can see why, he’s vital for Chelsea already. I probably didn’t expect this lad to feature so much for them this season, but he’s become one of the first names on the team sheet. He’s got a real eye for the goal and is a really composed finisher when he does get chances.
Declan Rice
Another regular in my side, Declan Rice. He didn’t score or assist, but Declan ran the game against Brighton and continues to look like he’s been in this side for years. Next up for Arsenal, it’s Liverpool at Anfield. These are the games he was signed for.
Mohammed Kudus
What a player Kudus looks, and I still think there’s more to come from this lad. I’m still not sure where this lad’s best position is but he’s such a talent. The drives with the ball with such pace and control, you can’t get it off him. He’s got a fantastic strike on him too, he showed again at the weekend. He’s my star man this weekend!
Michael Olise
What a point that was for Palace at the Etihad, Roy must have been delighted after the last couple of weeks! For Olise to show that much composure, that late in the game, was class. It doesn’t surprise me though, everything this lad does oozes quality. Some huge clubs were after him in the summer, it doesn’t surprise me one bit.
Ollie Watkins
That was a massive win for Villa at Brentford, massive. I say it all the time, winning at that ground is never easy. For Ollie Watkins to score the late winner against his old side must have been extra sweet for them. It’s a huge couple of weeks for Villa, if they can get through this festive period without dropping too many points, they’ll be right in this title race.
Gabriel Jesus
I love what Gabriel Jesus brings to this Arsenal side. Maybe he should score more goals, but the way he links the play and his work-rate, it’s exceptional. He got one against Brighton, a real poacher’s header at the back post. I’m a big fan of this lad.
