Harry Redknapp’s Premier League Preview For Matchday 31

March 20 – Friday

Bournemouth 2-2 Man Utd

Friday night football, and this should be a good one! The game at Old Trafford was an absolute thriller, more of the same please lads. That’s now four draws in a row for Bournemouth and to be honest, they weren’t great at Burnley.

Man United are going from strength to strength under Michael Carrick and are putting themselves in a really decent position. The only concern would be that they haven’t been great on their last two away trips.

I’m going for a 2-2 draw, plenty of action and plenty of goals!

One to watch – Will Benjamin Sesko start? It’s a difficult one because the lad keeps scoring from the bench!

March 21 – Saturday

Brighton 1-1 Liverpool

An interesting one. Brighton’s form has picked up of late, and they got a good win away at Sunderland. It’s been and up and down for them but they’re a very dangerous side when they hit their best form.

Who knows what to make of Liverpool? I thought they were very poor in that second half against Spurs but were then brilliant against Galatasaray. Which Liverpool were turn up here?

I’m leaning towards the draw here.

One to watch – Mo Salah looked more like himself in that second half against Galatasaray. Hopefully he can kick on here.

Fulham 1-0 Burnley

Fulham are another side that look like they’re mentally on the beach! Still, they’ve had a good season and never look like being in a relegation fight under Marco Silva.

It looks like Burnley’s race is run, it’s been a really difficult season for them. They’ll be hoping to at least end the season with some positivity.

I’ll go for the Cottagers.

One to watch – Harry Wilson’s future is still very much up in the air but what a brilliant season he’s had. Fulham will be desperate to keep him.

Everton 2-1 Chelsea

I think Everton have had a great season. On another day, they might have won last week at the Emirates, they were very unfortunate not to at least get a goal.

This will be very interesting for Chelsea. It feels like the pressure is growing on Liam Rosenior, which seems very harsh. They weren’t actually bad against PSG but some poor defending and wasteful finishing really cost them.

I think Everton will be really up for this and could get the upset win here. In fact, would this be an upset?

One to watch – I’m a big fan of Iliman Ndiaye, he’s a very classy player.

Leeds 1-1 Brentford

A big game for Leeds. It felt like they were edging towards safety, but the wins have dried up and all of a sudden, they’ll be looking over their shoulders again. Still, three points here would put them in a good position.

Keith Andrews will be very frustrated at the last two games. They’ve had an amazing season but to not beat Wolves at home will hurt, particularly as they still have a chance of qualifying for Europe.

I’m picking the draw here.

One to watch – Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s back in the England squad and had a great season. A good run of form to end the season and that could seal his spot on the plane to America.

March 22 – Sunday

Newcastle 2-1 Sunderland

Wow what a game and a week for Newcastle, Barcelona away and then Sunderland! I know it was a heavy defeat but that was harsh on the Magpies, and they really gave Barca a scare in that first half. I can’t defend some of that defending though.

Sunderland’s form has really dropped off of late but I suppose that’s to be expected after such a great start to the season. They’ll be very up for this one though after beating the Geordie Boys earlier in the season!

Expect plenty of drama, plenty of action! I think Newcastle will narrowly win.

One to watch – I don’t often pick left-backs, but Lewis Hall is no average left-back, what a player. This lad seems to get better every time I see him!

Aston Villa 1-1 West Ham

This feels like a massive game for Aston Villa. They got the job done last night in the Europa League, but the league form is concerning. It might get to the stage that they have to prioritise that competition and try to win it to get in next season’s Champions League. Fortunately, they have the ideal manager for the job!

West Ham have really picked up of late under Nuno. They’re beginning to show loads of fight, as we saw from the likes of Mavropanos last week! The only concern, is that they need to turn a few of these draws into wins.

I’m going for another draw for West Ham.

One to watch – I’m sure Thomas Tuchel will have his eyes on this match, this is a good chance for Jarrod Bowen to impress him.

Spurs 1-0 Forest

Wow, what a huge, huge game for both. Spurs showed a lot more fight, a lot more character against Atletico. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it can be easier in games like that where let’s face it, they had nothing to lose. There’s a lot of pressure on this one, how will the players respond?

I’m not sure playing Thursday night will be ideal prep for Forest. I was very surprised and very impressed they won in Denmark, but that was long night for them and I’d be worried how fresh the players will be.

I just think Spurs will narrowly get the win here, but this could be very, very nervy.

One to watch – Xavi Simons probably had his best game in a Spurs shirt against Atletico. More of the same for the rest of the season would be a huge bonus.

EFL Cup Final

Arsenal 2-1 Man City

The big one, a difficult one to predict. Will this impact the title race? I’m not so sure. Arsenal got the job done at home to Leverkusen, but truth be told, I fully expected that. A lot has been said about this team not winning enough trophies, but they’ve got a great chance here and that could kickstart a couple more this season.

Man City actually played quite well against Real Madrid but the red card killed the game. This feels like a big game for City’s season, a loss here and that could be curtains really.

This will be fascinating. It’s rare for me to go against Pep in these big games but I am here! I think Arsenal will narrowly lift the trophy.

One to watch – Stick with me, but I’m picking Gabriel. He always seems to man-mark Haaland and that could very well be where this game is decided. Of course, he’s always such a threat from set-pieces, I wouldn’t be remotely surprised if he nods one in.
