Newbury Racecourse

Newbury Racecourse combines a rich heritage with a modern setting, making it one of the most prestigious venues in the UK. The first recorded race took place in 1805 with ‘Newbury Races’, but the first official racemeeting didn’t take place until 1905 with Copper King ridden by Charles Trigg winning the opening race. Today, the racecourse plays host one of Great Britain's 36 annual Group 1 flat races, the Lockinge Stakes.
