Beach Volleyball Betting

Bet on Beach Volleyball

If ever an Olympic city symbolised the true spirit of beach volleyball, then in 2016 Rio was it. Hosted on the world famous Copacabana beach, 24 teams and 48 athletes from both the men’s and women’s tournament competed for the gold medal on the sun-baked sand of Brazil.

While Germany’s Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst took the title in the women’s competition, it was Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt who sent the home crowd into raptures by claiming the men’s competition for hosts Brazil.

And just as in Rio, here at BetVictor we’ll have the latest beach volleyball betting when the sport arrives in Tokyo for the Olympics in 2020.

Before that though, there’s more than enough to keep you entertained in beach volleyball, with the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour ensuring there are a host of beach volleyball betting opportunities all over the globe, throughout the year.

Beginning in February and culminating in the World Tour Finals in August, the tour for both the men and women’s game sees the 24 qualified teams compete in tournaments hosted at venues on all corners of the globe, including USA, Iran, Australia, Malaysia, Russia, China and Germany.

The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour also incorporates the Beach Volleyball World Championships, with the winners emerging as the best of 96 teams. Such an achievement means the competition is considered second only to the Olympic tournament in terms of the most prestigious title players can strive for in beach volleyball.

Having won more gold medals in the tournament than any other nation, the men’s game continues to be dominated by those boys from Brazil, while in the women’s game recent competition from China, USA and Germany have ensured a slightly more even distribution of medals among the leading nations.
