Roefs has been a superb signing for Sunderland so far. A reliable keeper is a huge bonus for a newly promoted side, and this lad has been fantastic. He made some top saves at the weekend against Forest.
I love watching Kayode at Brentford, this lad plays with so much energy and enthusiasm. His teammates must love him; his energy will be infectious. He was excellent against United and those long throws were such a threat, it was like Rory Delap!
There was a lot of attention on Guehi before this game and he showed Liverpool just what they could have had, he was brilliant. He dealt with everything that came his way and obviously was crucial to that opening goal as well.
Bueno had a great game for Wolves. They were so close to what would have been an amazing win, and this lad was right at the heart of it. Aside from his goal, his general play was excellent and he was a big presence for his side. That was an encouraging performance from Wolves.
I like young O’Riley at Manchester City, he’s a very good footballer. I’m not sure whether left-back will be his long-term position but right now, he’s making it his own. He’s very comfortable on the ball but he’s a big lad and has a good turn of pace on him as well. A great prospect.
Speaking of City, Doku’s probably had the best few weeks of his City career. We’ve always known how quick and dangerous this lad is, but he’s adding goals and end product, he’s developing into a very good player. He was electric against Burnley and a threat virtually every time he touched the ball.
Declan Rice had a typically strong game away at Newcastle. He set the tone in that midfield with his passing and energy in there. It looked like it might be a frustrating day for Arsenal, but he popped up with yet another superb delivery for that equaliser.
Longstaff had his best game in a Leeds shirt, he was excellent. He took his goal very well and for the money they paid Newcastle, he could be a great bit of business. He’s not the flashiest player in the world but he’s a very dependable midfielder at this level.
Sarr did it again against Liverpool after scoring in the Community Shield last month. He’s developed so much since he came to the club and is such a threat and a really reliable finisher. He always had real potential so it’s nice to see him deliver on it.
It was nice to see Danny Welbeck back among the goals, what a sub that was! To come in score is one thing but to score and turn the game around, you can’t ask for much more than that. That was a big win for Brighton and gives them something to build on moving forward.
Igor Thiago is my star man this week, what a finish that was for his opener! He was such a threat, and he could have had more than the two he got. He plays with so much energy and has started the season in such great form. He came in for a lot of money last summer, but he barely kicked a ball for the club because of injuries. He almost feels like a new singing.
Manager: It’s got to be Glasner, this is just remarkable. Are Palace now in the title race? My only concern for them moving forward will be how they cope with all these European games. This team will give any side in the league a real test though.
